PROPOSED late-night opening for a restaurant at Hunters Bar in Sheffield has prompted objections from community groups.
Councillors are due to be asked today (Thursday) to grant a licence that would allow premises last used at Mini Bar in Junction Road, overlooking the roundabout, to stay open until 2am Wednesday to Saturday, 12.30 on Sundays and midnight the rest of the week.
The council is being told that the premises would be primarily a restaurant.
But Endcliffe Corner Community Organisation fears “unacceptable levels of noise disturbance”.
The group said: “We believe that few people would be eating meals at such a late hour. It is more likely that Mini Bar would operate as bar.”
Botanical Area Community Association says it wants to see a closing time for all bars and restaurants in the area of no later than 11.30pm.
