The Millers trailed 3-0 late in the game and had been outclassed by the visitors, but a goal from Danny Ward and two from Leon Best saw the pull off a sensational draw in time added on.

Ward reduced the arrears after 83 minutes, Best, playing against his former club, added a second two minutes later and then the substitute striker provoked crazy scenes at AESSEAL New York Stadium as he grabbed an equaliser that at one stage had seemed impossible.

The third-bottom Millers went into the match on the back of three straight wins, but they had no answer as the fifth-placed Rams hit them with a nine-minute three-goal blitz in the second half.

Tom Ince struck first, in the 55th minute, followed by Chris Martin eight minutes later, and Ince was on target again just a minute after that.

Neil Warnock's men were second best in the first half but could have led after five minutes when Kirk Broadfoot sent Danny Ward clean through only for Scott Carson to make a good save.

The Rams bossed much of the half, and twice had golden chances to take the lead, but found Lee Camp in inspired form.

The Millers keeper produced a superb eighth-minute save to deny Tom Ince and then did even better in time added to keep out a Chris Martin effort.

Rotherham had been forced into changes through injury and suspension, with Stephen Kelly at right-back instead of hamstring victim Frazer Richardson, centre-half Danny Collins replacing Richard Wood, also missing with a hamstring problem, and midfielder Paul Green coming in for the banned Greg Halford.

Warnock also opted to start with Danny Ward up front, dropping Leon Best to the bench.

For Derby, George Thorne, Bradley Johnson and Jeff Hendrick came in as Jacob Butterfield, Jamie Hanson and the injured Johnny Russell dropped out of the starting 11.

The Rams, arguably the best side seen at AESSEAL New York Stadium this season until their late collapse dominated most of the match and could have added to their lead at 3-0.

Then came that unforgettable, unbelievable Millers response.
