Fantasy fans set to flock to Sheffield Arena's third Comic Con

Fans of fantasy films and comics will be gathering in all manner of fantastic costumes for a two-day event this weekend.

The event returns for a third time on Saturday and Sunday after the success it has enjoyed in previous years .

It will again feature Cosplay, where costumes can be displayed on stage with a chance to win prizes, a comic zone where visitors can meet comic writers and artists, comic creation master classes and a chance to track down that rare edition of your favourite comic.

There’s also Artist’s Alley, where amateur comic and manga artists can chill out, draw and meet other artists.

The Video Game Zone will host both modern and retro gaming with many casual-play and full-scale tournaments taking place throughout the day.

Browse hundreds of stalls selling collectable movie merchandise, costumes and toys.

There will also be a large number of free guest talks and several paid-for premium guest talks taking place over the weekend.

Stars already confirmed are Simon Fisher Becker from Dr Who and Harry Potter, George Roubicek (Star Wars, The Spy Who Loved me), former Dr Who assistant Katy Manning, plus Camille Coduri, who played Rose Tyler’s mum Jackie in the show when David Tennant was the doctor, Star Wars icon Dave Prowse Glyn Baker (Star Wars, James Bond), Kai Owen from Torchwood and Harry Potter star Jeff Rawle.
