In the same fixture one season earlier, Owls '˜keeper Kirkland was attacked by Leeds fans as they got onto the pitch in the 1-1 draw.

The clash in the 2013/14 campaign was a much more one-sided affair however as Reda Johnson put Wednesday ahead before Adthe Nuhiu doubled their advantage on the stroke of half time.

Then-Leeds defender and current Owls captain Lees was replaced by Matt Smith after half time but was sent off one minute later for clattering into Johnson as they contested a header in the middle of the park.

Two more goals came from Chris Maguire and Connor Wickham, before future Sheffield United man Caolan Lavery bagged a brace to inflict Leeds' heaviest defeat since they lost 0-6 at Manchester United on 9 September 1959.
