Flooding and heavy rain warning for South Yorkshire issued by Met Office
A spokesman said: "Slow-moving, heavy showers which have been developing during the late morning and early afternoon are becoming more widespread and will continue to affect some areas through the rest of this afternoon onwards into this evening before only slowly starting to ease and die out.
"Please be aware of the possibility of localised surface water flooding.

Thunder and lightning is also possible, though not to the extent which was seen around the UK earlier this week. Finally note that as is often the case with heavy showers, some parts of the area enclosed within this warning will miss the showers and remain dry."
