Jennifer Burton has recently returned to Sheffield from Leeds and has joined promotional products company Steel City as a marketing exec. She lives with new husband Simon in Beauchief.
Are you a cook?
Yes – it's a great way to unwind and be creative.
Any cooking tips?
Add a little mustard, soy sauce, a stock cube and a dash of Henderson’s relish for a lovely rich Bolognese.
What’s your favourite dish?
Thai green curry with tempura prawns. I love the fresh flavours and ingredients.
And a drink to go with it?
Red wine – anything beginning with an ‘M’!
Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?
I recently went to Gigi’s Cucina at Nether Green: great atmosphere, stunning lighting and beautifully cooked food.
The Beer House micro pub on Ecclesall Road. They have some great local real ales and I like the concept.
What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?
On holiday in Thailand, I had a curry that was so hot even the slightest taste set my mouth on fire. I had to leave the whole thing, which was very upsetting as I usually have a clean plate!
And the best?
It has to be Fischer’s Baslow Hall for my husband’s birthday meal: private dining room and the most amazing, tantalising food.
Your favourite TV cook?
Those Hairy Bikers, so down to earth and likeable.
What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?
Lots to offer and lots of new restaurants with different types of cuisine popping up.
