There will be a new food hall at the old Co-op building

Just last week it was announced that Arctic Monkeys' drummer Matt Helders had teamed up with the award-winning cocktail bar Public to launch Ambulo, a new 'all day cafe' concept with two sites at the Millennium Gallery and Weston Park Museum. The first site to open shortly will be the one at the gallery.

The rise of the food hall seems unstoppable and Sheffield is due to get its second when a Scandi inspired one is unveiled on the upper ground floor in the old Co-Op Department Store inside Castle house. The project has been launched by the people behind Peddler, Tamper and Depot Bakery in association with Kollider Projects, and will feature street food from independent vendors.

S11 residents have been looking forward to the refurbishment of the old Psalter Tavern, on Psalter Lane, for some time.

In November bosses at development firm Kai Yu Ltd said the 23-bed upmarket 'boutique' hotel was nearly finished and steelwork was being installed to create a hotel bar.

The company is led by Anthony Chan, husband of Sheffield ice cream entrepreneur Yee Kwan Chan, and others. Celebrity chef Gino D'Campo is also due to open his restaurant in the city, continuing the regeneration of The Moor.
