From a Roman inspired feast to a six course vegetarian tasting menu, these are the places you can go to eat this Valentine’s Day in Sheffield

A traditional way to celebrate Valentine’s Day is to share a meal with your other half, and there are plenty of venues offering a romantic menu.

Blend Kitchen will commemorate the origins of Valentine’s day with their second St Valentine's Feast.

The restaurant, on Pinstone Street in the city centre, is offering diners a lavish three course Roman style feast, inspired by the figure behind Valentine's Day, the Roman Saint Valentine.

The dishes on offer will include mushroom and gorgonzola arranci, rocket and tomato salad and basil pesto, a selection of roast meats including chicken, duck, sausage and pork marinated in lemon, garlic, rosemary, thyme and sage, and chocolate and amaretto torte with cherry compote.

If you would prefer a more modern take on a Valentines meal, particularly if your date is vegetarian or vegan, visit Pitcher and Piano.

The venue, on Holly Street in the city centre, is offering a special three-course meal.

Options include vegan tomato and red pepper hummus or chicken pakoras for starters, vegan mixed bean tagine or pan-fried salmon fillet for mains and vegan raspberry sorbet or chocolate crumble for dessert.

Diners can pay £21.95 per person for two courses from the set Valentines menu, or £26.95 per person to enjoy three courses each.

You can also celebrate Valentine’s Day itself with a romantic lunch or a special six-course tasting menu at Brocco Kitchen.

Dishes included on the six course tasting menu are goat’s cheese tortellini with a pumpkin and orange sauce, salted pumpkin seeds and sage, slow cooked spiced pork belly with carrot purée, seared scallop, fennel and pork popcorn and chocolate mousse, orange shortbread and earl grey tea ice cream.   A vegetarian tasting menu is also available.

 If you’d rather save your celebrations till the weekend, you can book to enjoy Brocco Kitchen’s Valentine’s afternoon tea instead.

The afternoon tea is available on Saturday, February 16 at 3pm and Sunday, February 17 at 4pm, and includes a variety of sandwiches, savouries, sweets and a scone.

All of this can be enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee, for £25 per person, or a glass of prosecco for £5 extra or champagne for £10 extra.
