Games inspire young people

HUNDREDS of visually-impaired youngsters from across the UK will follow in the footsteps of Team GB at a Sheffield event.

Around 150 four- to 16-year-olds are set to gather in the city’s English Institute of Sport for the athletics competition on September 22.

Young people from Actionnaires clubs for blind and partially sighted children will represent towns and cities from across the north.

They will be competing in long jump, javelin and sprint contests.

Lesley Inganni, development manager at Action for Blind People, said: “The children are so excited about the event.”
