HATS off to these new bobbies who have been sworn in by Derbyshire Police.

They are the first intake of new recruits in almost two years and were formally sworn in as police officers last night.

Fifteen student officers took part in the attestation ceremony in South Normanton, Derbyshire.

After swearing an oath of allegiance to the Queen, they were presented with their warrant cards and will become fully fledged PCs after 19 weeks’ training.

Chief Constable Mick Creedon said: “I’m proud of our new recruits, who are about to embark on a tremendously exciting and hopefully very rewarding career.”
