7,000 hospital staff get a flu jab for winter

A record number of staff at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals - more than 7,000 - have been given a flu jab this winter to help protect vulnerable patients.

Medical director David Throssell said: “The flu jab isn’t compulsory, so it’s fantastic that our staff have come forward to be vaccinated, and we are proud of their commitment to keeping patients and their colleagues free from flu.”

The teaching hospitals trust covers the Royal Hallamshire, Northern General, Weston Park, Jessop Wing and Charles Clifford Hospitals.
