Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity is encouraging residents to get their year off to a flying start by joining Team Theo on the Plusnet Yorkshire Half Marathon.
In 2013, more than 200 big-hearted runners took part in the Sheffield Half Marathon while raising cash for the hospital charity – and this year it is hoped even more caring supporters will put their best feet forward for the worthy cause.
Tonya Kennedy, charity events fundraiser, said: “We are proud to be charity partners for the Plusnet Yorkshire Half Marathon, which is set to be a challenging but accessible race through the city and into the Peak District.
“We want to enter more Team Theo runners than ever for this race, so why not sign up, lace up, and help Make it Better for our patients.”
Money raised through Team Theo active challenges helps to pay for medical equipment, research into the prevention and cure of childhood illnesses and new facilities.
Support is currently needed more than ever, as the hospital charity is in the midst of its biggest appeal to date – the Make it Better appeal.
The campaign aims to provide the hospital with world-class facilities to match the world-class expertise – but millions of pounds are still needed to reach the goal.
