Sheffield hotel workers in bid to raise cash for city hospital

Kind-hearted hotel workers have pledged to raise enough money to kit out a new consulting room in a new wing being built at The Children’s Hospital in Sheffield.

Staff at DoubleTree by Hilton hotel at Meadowhead have vowed to raise £5,000 for the scheme.

With 5,500 people set to attend parties at the hotel over the festive season, the team will raffle off a bottle of champagne each night as well as encouraging partygoers to pay £1 to reclaim their coats.

Guest relations manager Gavin Anderson said: “What to us makes The Children’s Hospital Charity extra special is that it is a dedicated children’s hospital, of which there are only a few in the country and because it is based in Sheffield, we can clearly see where our fundraising efforts are going.”
