A FUNDRAISER is proving she can take the heat by signing up for a charity run with members of South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Tina Harrison, fundraising manager at Lost Chord dementia charity, will be joining east division firefighters when they take on the 10km Great Yorkshire Run through Sheffield in October.
Tina said: “I was delighted to discover 22 members of the fire and rescue team were planning to support us and when I met them I knew I could do my bit too.”
All money raised will go towards the charity’s work providing interactive musical concerts in dementia care homes and day centres across the region and beyond.
Beverley Sandy, temporary deputy fire chief officer, said: “Part of our work in the community is targeted at the most vulnerable sections. It seemed like a good charity for us to support.”
