Information service to close after 26 years

Sheffield Information Link, an independent provider of family services information, will close at the end of January after 26 years following a council decision to take services in-house.

It was the first of its kind in the country, offering information and advice on issue such as childcare, health, education, disability and holiday activities, and helping businesses to promote their family support services.

Chief executive Sharron Baroudi said it was a “first-class service”, and closure was being made “with great sadness”.
