Khan is insisting any contest between the two must happen at welterweight.“I have to do the Brook fight at 147 and he will come down” says the Bolton man.Brook’s unlikely to do that, but Khan’s remarks sound like posturing to ring legends Ryan Rhodes and Clinton Woods.Ahead of this weekend’s Khan v Phil Lo Greco match-up, Rhodes said: “If Khan gets through with a win, Kell has had his warm up fight (stopping Siarhei Rabchanka in March) is that a potential big fight for September?“I would like to have seen Kell have another fight at light middleweight. But that doesn’t look like it’s going to be just yet.“Khan doesn’t want Kell at light middle, saying it has to happen at welterweight. Kell can’t make welterweight...Khan knows that.“If they can agree a catchweight, 10 stone 10 or 11lbs...there is not another fight out there where they are going to generate that much interest, that much money, that much publicity.“They are both with Matchroom now,; when fighters come to Matchroom it is only a matter of time before (promoter) Eddie Hearn makes that fight. He has said it himself, it is a dream fight to make.”Former world champion Clinton Woods is certain the fight will go ahead.“It is going to happen. It should have happened two years ago when Kell was unbeaten but it is still going to be a sell-out" he said. “It doesn’t matter if Kell is out in June or not, like they said he would be, millions of pounds are involved with a Khan fight. That means one thing - it will happen.”Rhodes said Brook had gained experience by training recently at American gyms, including the Freddie Roach Wildcard base in Los Angeles."You don't go to them gyms as a former world champion as a big name as Kell is and get into their gyms out of shape. He was on the bags training hard and looking like he was enjoying himself."READ MORE: Click here for all the latest news from the fight scene
