A PUB in Sheffield had to be sealed off by Army explosives experts after the landlady kept a wartime bomb next her cooker for three weeks.
Denise Kilner, aged 51, who runs the Cross Scythes in Norton Lees, found the bomb with a metal detector, initially thinking the dangerous object was a battery.
But her daughter’s boyfriend Mark Deakin, a former soldier, identified the World War One anti-aircraft bomb when he spotted it.
Denise said she was left ‘gobsmacked’ when she realised what the object was.
Bomb squad officers found it was empty and of no danger to the public before removing it.
