Explore The Stories In The Woods: fun, creative, outdoor activities for families. For kids who are creative, adventurous and enjoy exploring outdoors. Growtheatre is running it’s fun-packed, creative outdoor family sessions in Ecclesall Woods again this Summer. Hosted by a range of extraordinary and enchanting characters,you will be invited to join him or her on a journey or quest and help them out! These family sessions promise to be full of entertainment, adventure, theatre, making and building, games and Forest School skills. Marvellous Monsters. HELP! Curious creatures and marvellous monsters are loose in the woods! Come and help round them up - use magic to conjure up imaginary beasts and create a safe haven for them.

Storytelling for younger children: from 1.00-1.30pm followed by a Spring Trail for children aged 4-11 at Sheffield Botanical Gardens on Wednesday from 1.30-3.30pm. Pick up a Trail sheet (50p) from the Dorothy Fox Education Centre at the top of the Thompson Road drive and explore the Gardens. Remember to wear appropriate clothing and waterproof shoes. Art and craft activities will also take place in the Education Centre. All children welcome. Members of the Children’s University can receive credits. Youth Circus classes: Greentop Circus. Tuesday: 10.30 - 12.00 Home Education aerial group: Tuesday: 5.30 - 7.00pm Introduction To Circus: A drop in class in aerial, basic manipulation and equilibristic skills. Aerial - trapeze, silks or hoop. Juggling - balls, scarves, rings, clubs. Also: plate spinning, diablo, flower sticks, poi, stilt walking, tight wire & unicycling. Wednesday: 6.00 - 7.30pm Youth Aerial Progression: A weekly progression class in aerial skills for children and young people of 8 - 16 years. This class is designed for those with a good basic standard of aerial skills. Thursday: 6.00 - 7.30pm Youth Aerial: A weekly class in aerial skills for children and young people, 8+ (6 - 8 year olds by discussion). Trapeze & Silks with conditioning and warm ups/warm downs. CHILDREN’S ART CLUB: Join our Saturday morning Art club at Westbourne Junior School run by Judy Hawdon, a qualified Art teacher. The club is fun, friendly and creative. The children will explore a wide range of media and process, including painting, drawing, collage and printmaking often linking to artists past and present. The holistic benefits of art, are wide ranging, being not only relaxing but encouraging problem solving, self-expression, concentration, teamwork and decision making. Children’s and Young Person’s High Quality Visual Art sessions: in fun and friendly small class situation.
