Man hit by white Mercedes seriously injured on Sheffield street

A man was seriously injured after being hit by a white C220 Mercedes car on a Sheffield street.

The pedestrian was stood next to a white Ford Transit van on Shortbridge Street at the junction with Chippingham Place in Attercliffe when he was in collision with the vehicle.

The man, who also the driver of the van, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Sheffield's Northern General Hospital.

Police are now urging witnesses to the collision, which happened on Tuesday, March 14, at 8.10pm, to come forward with any information.

A force spokesperson said: "Police would like anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or saw the white Mercedes C220 in the area prior to the collision to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 1106 14 March."
