A man wanted by police over racially abusive comments heard at Meadowhall has come forward.
South Yorkshire Police issued a CCTV image of a man they believed could hold vital information about the incident and he contacted the force.
A police spokeswoman said: "Following an appeal asking for your help to identify a man in CCTV images connected to an incident at Meadowhall, police can confirm that the man has contacted them.
"A CCTV appeal was issued after racially abusive comments were allegedly made towards a teenager in Meadowhall on Sunday, May 1.
"Police were keen to trace the man in the images who they believe could help with enquiries.
"Thank you to everyone who shared the appeal."
