Marching for Veterans Day

PRESENT and past service personnel are gearing up for events to mark Armed Forces and Veterans Day.

Details have been revealed of events in Sheffield to mark the occasion, on Saturday, June 25. The programme, which starts at 11am, centres on Fargate, Barker’s Pool and the Peace Gardens.

The event is being organised by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Coun Sylvia Dunkley and Sheffield and District Joint Council of Ex-Service Associations.

The centrepiece of events in Sheffield will be a short parade of veterans. The parade will form in Millennium Square next to the Winter Garden, marching off at midday around the Town Hall and back into the Peace Gardens.
