In a joint celebration for volunteers from its two Dronfield shops the MP (pictured centre back) had tea and discussed the town and shared ideas at the area’s Peel Centre.

Managers Sharonne Winter from the standard store and Gail Sinclair from the children’s store hosted the MP as he sipped tea with the volunteers, who have a combined 150 years volunteering for the charity.

Attending the celebration were Janet Firth, 78, who has recently received the Marsh Trust volunteers award and has achieved 35 years volunteering for Barnardo’s and James Hollingworth, 24, from the children’s store, who has recently been nominated for the national Charity Retail Awards Young Volunteer of the Year award.

Manager of the children’s store, Gail Sinclair, said she was particularly proud of James who has a learning disability for his dedication and added: “We are lucky to have two exceptional teams of volunteers working in Dronfield. They are all marvellous, but I’m particularly proud of James’ nomination for Young Volunteer of the Year.”
