The plans include the creation of a 48-space car park by the store.

The existing site is a vacant corner plot on the junction of Wordsworth Avenue and Deerlands Avenue which was previously occupied by houses that were demolished in 2003.

A decision on whether to give the site the go-ahead is scheduled to be made by April 25.

It is proposed the shop would be open between 8am and 10pm on weekdays, 8am to 8pm on Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
