Every morning, hundreds of people across Sheffield have The Telegraph delivered to their homes, thanks to Baxters Newsagents.

The service has seen the store, at 225 Crookes, become the first focus of our new Newsagent of the Week series.

The features will a celebrate newsagents which are at the heart of communities across the city.

Owner Stuart Reddish said: “We are the largest independent newsagents to do newspaper deliveries.

“I have a team of ten people who go out in their cars every morning to deliver papers to homes across Sheffield, particularly in Broomhill, Bradway, Woodseats and the city centre.

“We get paper deliveries at 4am and by 5am hundreds of homes across the city are having newspapers pushed through their letter box. Most newsagents aren’t even open at that time.

“We deliver come way may too - whether there’s snow, hail or sun.”

Stuart took over the business in 2015 and has introduced a post office as well as a selection of wines and spirits.

Stuart added: “The post office has been very well received and it’s brought in new customers. We pride ourselves on having excellent customer service and it keeps people coming back.”

Baxters is open from Monday to Saturday from 5am to 8pm and Sunday from 6am to 7pm. The post office is also open at these times.
