The 70-year-old was involved in a collision with a blue Skoda Fabia and a black Volkswagen Golf on Prince of Wales Road, Darnall, on Saturday afternoon.

She was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said both cars were travelling towards Sheffield when the woman ‘entered the road’ shortly after the junction with Bowden Wood Crescent.

The spokeswoman said: “At about 5.20pm it is reported that a black Volkswagen Golf and a blue Skoda Fabia were both driving along Prince of Wales Road towards Sheffield, when they were involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

“Shortly after the junction with Bowden Wood Crescent, it is believed that a pedestrian has entered the road and has been in collision with the black Volkswagen Golf.

“The pedestrian, a 70-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with what were believed to be life threatening injuries.

“She currently remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“No one else was injured during the incident.

“Did you see what happened? Did you see the pedestrian before the incident?”
