Thomas who suffers from Autism is pictured with his Support Dog Marky and dad Paul taken by Simon Hulme.

Readers who were moved by the inspiring story of Thomas, the young Sheffield boy with autism whose life was transformed by his autism assistance dog Marky, (Sheffield Telegraph April 22) may be interested to know that Support Dogs, the charity that provided and trained Marky, is a Sheffield-based national charity whose training centre is in Brightside.

As well as training autism assistance dogs for children, we also train seizure alert dogs for adults with epilepsy, and disability assistance dogs for adults with disabilities such as MS and cerebral palsy, enabling them to lead safer, more independent lives.
