The former One Direction star will be back on home soil with the exclusive event at the Keepmoat Stadium on February 3 when fans will be able to meet the pop idol and get copies of his debut album Walls autographed in person.

Bessacarr-born Louis, 28, has had a long association with the club, from attending games as a youngster, fulfilling a boyhood dream by playing for the club and a failed takeover attempt in conjunction with former chairman John Ryan in 2014.

Albums and wristbands can be collected from the Doncaster branch of HMV from Friday January 31 onwards.

His appearance at Rovers will come just a few weeks before a hometown concert at The Dome on March 27.

Louis has been a lifelong football fan and played for and ran his own pub team called Three Horseshoes while growing up in Doncaster.

After finding pop fame, he agreed to play in a charity game to raise money for Bluebell Wood and was offered a deal by Rovers to join the club on non-contract terms.

The deal was for him to be a development player and to participate in reserve games, working around his music commitments.

Tomlinson said: "It's unbelievable really. I have been a massive football fan for a long time and growing up in Doncaster, I've been to plenty of games at the Keepmoat. To be part of the club is incredible."

He played as subsitiute for Doncaster's reserve side in the Central League in a 0–0 game against Rotherham United in February 2014 and later the same year, Tomlinson and Ryan made a takeover bid for the club, but the deal fell through.

In 2016, he sparked anger among fans when he and his grandfather Len Poulston won a competition to design the club's new away kit.
