Sheffield care company searching for 100 new staff members in jobs boom

Home Instead is expanding its team to keep up with increasing demand for their companionship-led services.

Bosses say potential applicants don’t need experience in the sector, and many who are thinking about changing careers could find their skills are easily transferable to a role in care.

Lesley Wood a caregiver at Home Instead North Sheffield, joined the team after taking redundancy from a 43-year-long career in the banking sector.

She said: “I wanted to try something new; a role where I could make a difference to someone’s day. With Home Instead, you help seniors continue to live in their homes independently by supporting them and providing real companionship.

“Before starting my caring role, I had looked after my good friend and neighbour who was living with Alzheimer’s for many years, keeping him comfortable in his own home until he passed on. I knew it was something I found rewarding, but so many others who don’t have experience in the sector could really find their calling in care.

“If you are empathetic, have a caring nature, patience, and a good sense of humour- this is the job for you. You form real relationships with your clients, making going to work like going to see a friend!”
