Sheffield food bank campaign raises £10,000 in its first week
A new food bank campaign to fund one million meals in Sheffield – backed by the Telegraph – has raised £10,000 in its first week.
The S6 Food Bank launched #ForAllSheffield, a bid to raise £150,000 in the next year, last week.
And so far more than £10,000 has been collected, from fundraising initiatives and donors, including several anonymous ones. The food bank launched its latest site at Arbourthorne at the same time and says many people now asking for help have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The food bank’s communications lead Alison Wise said: “At a time when it is easy to think that nobody cares this is testament to how much Sheffield does care.”
