MORE than 180 colour and monochrome prints will be on display at the annual exhibition of Sheffield Photographic Society when 47 members, including juniors and beginners, will display their work in the 1554 Gallery at Sheffield Cathedral from February 24-27. Established in 1864, it is one of the oldest clubs of its type in the world – and it is one of the largest and most thriving photographic societies in the UK, with more than 100 members using mainly digital equipment. The society holds its “Perspectives” exhibitions in the Winter Garden each autumn and visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite print in the annual exhibition at the Cathedral, which has free admission. Opening hours are 10am-5pm Thursday to Saturday and noon-4pm Sunday.
The exhibition, sponsored by Harrison Cameras, will be officially opened by Lord Mayor Alan Law.
