Police in Sheffield seek owner of tools found during search of house

Police officers are trying to trace the owner of some tools which they believe to be stolen.

They were found by officers in a house in Parson Cross.

Officers searched the property following the arrest of a 25-year-old man on suspicion of theft from a vehicle in Percy Street, Neepsend, Sheffield.

It is believed that the offence took place on Friday, February 5.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A number of tools, including a hydraulic breaker, are believed to have been stolen in the incident and were subsequently discovered upon the arrest of the man.

“Officers are now looking to trace the owner of the tools.

“Do they belong to you? Do you know who they could belong to?”

Police in Sheffield are also investigating the theft of catalytic converters from vans parked in Gresley Road, Lowedges and Wollaton Road, Totley.

The theft of number plates from a vehicle parked in Crescent Road, Nether Edge, has also been reported to South Yorkshire Police.
