Don’t Be can make it four wins on the bounce in the 32Red Fillies’ Handicap at Lingfield.

Sir Mark Prescott had little joy in his first couple of attempts with this ex-French runner back in the summer but he then gave her some time off and brought her back for the all-weather campaign.

The five-year-old showed improved form on her return after a wind operation, making late progress to finish third at Wolverhampton before going a couple of places better next time out to notch her first British success.

She triumphed off a mark of 66 that day but a further 6lb could not slow her progress as she then struck gold at Lingfield in December before defying a further 4lb hike to triumph again at Kempton before Christmas.

Don’t Be showed a fine attitude to fend off Brigliadoro by a short head that day and while another 6lb rise is far from ideal, Prescott is a master of managing just this kind of winning run.

All eyes will be on useful hurdler and chaser Sgt Reckless in the opening Best Odds On Racing Maiden Stakes but Belrog looks a better bet than the Arkle hopeful.

Hailing from the excellent family of Dash To The Top, Belrog was last seen finishing second at Lingfield last April and looks the type to strike in this kind of company, despite his lengthy lay-off.

Josses Hill disappointed as an odds-on shot on his fencing debut but should be given a chance to redeem himself in the Betdaq 0% Multiples For First Month Novices’ Chase at Doncaster.

The seven-year-old chased home Vautour in the Supreme at Cheltenham last term before going on to rout his rivals in a Grade Two heat at Aintree in the spring.
