Racing preview for Tuesday, June 23

Winter Serenade can step up on her recent maiden victory and make a winning start to life in handicap company at Leicester.

Marco Botti has wasted no time in switching to this sphere after the daughter of Fastnet Rock ran out a narrow winner over 12 furlongs on the Polytrack at the start of the month.

Previously fifth in an Ascot maiden, Winter Serenade appeared to appreciate the step up to a mile and a half as she fended off Nigel by a head at Kempton.

The reopposing Chapel Choir was back in fifth that day and while she is better off at the weights, Winter Serenade had nearly five lengths in hand and can confirm the form in the Leicester Interactive Fillies’ Handicap.

Ingleby Spring can make it seventh-time lucky in the Frank’s Final Furlong Fillies’ Handicap after a promising return last time out.

Off the track for nearly 10 months, she was a bit slowly away before lacking the necessary extra gear to get really involved as the finish.

Ingleby Spring should improve a fair bit for that outing, though, and it would be dangerous to rule her out.

Youonlyliveonce fell short at Hamilton last time out but should fare better in the Racing UK On Sky 432 Handicap at Beverley.

John Quinn’s runner was beaten two and a quarter lengths last week but as that was his first run since April, he may well have just needed the outing.

He is clearly no world beater with a mark of just 50, but he will not need to be anything special to win here.

Wardat Dubai has some nice snippets of form in the book and should not be forgotten in the Racing UK Profits All Returned To Racing Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

She was beaten just a length by Queen’s Vase hero Aloft on her juvenile debut last term while her third behind Pamona and Entertainment at Newmarket last October also stacks up well with that pair finishing third and fourth respectively in the Ribblesdale Stakes.

Wardat Dubai was sent off favourite on her seasonal reappearance on the basis of that form but she ultimately disappointed when only third behind Great Fun despite being delivered to win her race.

She is rated upwards of 8lb better than each of her rivals here so it will be disappointing if she cannot get her head in front for Barry Hills.

Elle Rebelle is the pick in the first division of the Cobb Digital PRR Handicap at Brighton.

She appears to like a trip to the seaside track and her recent second puts her right in the frame for this.

Dell’ Arca had to work for a recent Uttoxeter win but the experience should stand him in good stead for the “Beau” Novices’ Chase at Newton Abbot.

A classy performer over hurdles, his first little spell over fences yielded little joy, although he was only beaten a length and a half by Coneygree on one occasion.

He beat Germany Calling by six lengths at Uttoxeter last time out, throwing in a decent round of jumping, but you might have expected him to win by further given the amount he had in hand on the official figures.

That said, he could do little more than win and David Pipe will surely be disappointed if he is not victorious again here.
