Thieves targeted a Sheffield recycling charity - four days after its premises were destroyed in a fire.
Raiders struck at the office of Sheffield Reclaim – the only building left untouched by a blaze at the Attercliffe site which saw plumes of smoke visible from more than 30 miles.
The burglars stole a laptop and tools donated to help clear up after the fire, as well as tipping over furniture, last Thursday night.
Staff and volunteers have vowed to ‘bounce back’, re-opening the office to 25 trainees on Monday.
Activity centre manager Liz Carrington said: “If you didn’t laugh you’d cry, but that would get us nowhere. We always look on the bright side of everything.” South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue is still investigating the cause of the fire.
