QUEEN legend Brian May and rock goddess Kerry Ellis will be in Sheffield later this year as they team up for ‘Anthems: The Tour.’

The live tour follows on from the success of their forthcoming sell-out charity show in London this May and the launch of their single Defying Gravity.

It promises to impress and entertain audiences with its fusion of rock and musical theatre anthems from shows such as Wicked, Chess and We Will Rock You.

“From the moment we worked together on We Will Rock You nine years ago, I knew Kerry was destined to be a worldwide star,” said Brian.

“The challenge was to develop songs and arrangements to allow that amazing voice to reach its true potential.”

The duo have had a series of performances recently, including stealing the show at the Royal Variety Show in 2008,before performing live together again at BBC Proms in the Park and at last year’s The Night of 1000 Voices. Most recently they opened the Remembrance Day concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

The announcement of Anthems: The Tour comes as Kerry & Brian are about to launch a pounding club remix of ‘Defying Gravity’ - the lead track from the musical ‘Wicked.’

The 12-date tour, which starts on May 3 at Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall, will see rock superstar Brian performing new arrangements of the favourite songs he has specially chosen to be sung by Kerry, accompanying her on both guitar and vocals.

Their single will be released on March 20 and tickets for the City Hall gig go on sale today for the tour.
