Four Sheffield scouts and their leader are set for an adventure of a lifetime after being chosen to represent the UK at an international event in Japan.

The group from Grenoside and Ecclesfield will join over 30,000 other young people at the World Scout Jamboree next year in Kirara-hama, Yamaguchi City.

Kit Levesley, Katherine Steel, Charlotte Whitham, Joseph Barrow and Peter Levesley are all looking forward to experiencing different cultures from all over the world and making new lifelong friends.

During the ten day event the quartet will join 36 other scouts from around the county, camping, living and working together as well as taking part in debates.

The scouts are now embarking on a fundraising mission to help pay for the trip, with the next event being a family quiz night on May 10 in the scout hut on Saltbox Lane, Grenoside.
