SHEFFIELD’S taste of the seaside is to linger a while longer.

The funfair and other attractions in the Peace Gardens, in front of the Town Hall and at the top of Fargate are to stay over the bank holiday weekend and until next Thursday. ‘Sheffield by the Sea’ was due to close on Saturday.

William Percival, of Farrar’s Funfairs, said: “It has been really popular and people have been asking if it can stay until the end of the school holidays, so the council have agreed to let us remain until Thursday.”

Among the attractions, open every day from 10am to 6pm, are a helter skelter, swing boats and a sand pit.
