Attercliffe’s Poco Nido won the ‘Best Children’s Gift Brand’ accolade at the prestigious Smallish Design Awards.

Nominations and award winners were decided by a panel of mums, including celebrities such as make-up artist and model Jemma Kidd, TV presenter Cherry Healy and singer Leah Wood.

Catherine Lobley, Poco Nido founder, paid tribute to all of her dedicated team of staff for helping to secure the award.

She said: “The Smallish Design Awards is incredibly well respected within the industry, and to be recognised by them with this award a fantastic achievement.

“We’re a small team that consistently aims to design footwear and garments that are colourful, recognisable and offer parents something that they can’t find anywhere else.

“They’re the perfect gift, and we now have the award to prove it.”

She added that this latest success follows on from a “fantastic start” to the year, in which the brand recorded a record quarter of sales.

Catherine, a footwear designer and mum-of-two, founded the business in 2011 after growing tired of the ‘identikit’ leather pull on shoes available for her children.

The design team tries to focus on colour and inspirational ideas, rather than following current fashion trends.

The business has grown quickly in the last three years and now has more than 70 stockists and three distributors worldwide.

The company won gold twice in a row at the prestigious Loved By Parents Awards for ‘Best Baby Footwear’.
