Charity staff, foster carers and social workers from Sheffield are preparing to embark on a mammoth challenge.
Members of Foster Care Associates, which has an office in Woodseats, will climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for The Rees Foundation, which supports individuals who have spent time in care.
David Oldham, FCA chief executive, said: “FCA carers and staff have a strong record in fundraising.
“This challenge brings together a group of people who feel passionately about establishing a strong support network for those who have spent time in care.
“The climb and our fundraising target are steep and we are grateful for all donations.”
The team hope their 11-day trek will raise more than £50,000.
