Sheffield McDonald’s store evacuated following fire alarm

Firefighters were called to a McDonald’s restaurant in Sheffield city centre after an alarm went off.

Dozens of customers had to leave the store shortly after 12.30pm on Monday afternoon.

A fire crew was sent to the High Street store but a spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said that the incident was believed to have been a false alarm.

Firefighters left the scene shortly after 1pm.
