Sheffield speedway: top of the table visitors Somerset ride in

The Rebels will head to Owlerton unbeaten in 13 Premier League meetings – but Garrity believes the Tigers can defy their own five-meeting winless run to come out on top.

The return of the all-action Brit has offered the Yorkshireman a major boost, as showcased by a stunning 15-point maximum on his comeback last week to salvage a draw against Ipswich.

As he looks to inspire them to arguably their biggest win of the season, Garrity has revealed how he has defied medical advice to return from an arm injury and look to lead their play-off push.

Said Garrity: “We’ve had a tough run as a team but we’ve all shown at one time or another what we can do, we just need to get everything firing at the same time.

“It’s easier said than done I suppose, but we’re all enjoying riding for Sheffield and I’m sure we’ll get things right.

“I’m not putting any stress on myself now, I’m just going out and enjoying racing my bike and it seems to be paying off so far.

“My wrist is still not 100%, and my doctors told me I should be off for at least six weeks and it’s only been five.

“I wanted to come back as soon as possible because I just love riding my bike and I don’t know what to do with myself when I’m not riding.

“I don’t want to be on the sidelines, I want to be riding and doing what I can to help the team do well.”

Somerset include World Cup finalist Josh Grajczonek in their powerhouse line-up alongside Australian compatriot Rohan Tungate, whilst Sheffield will be at full strength.
