Sheffield teenager killed in A57 collision named by police

A 19-year-old man killed in a crash in Sheffield yesterday has been named by police as Bradley Lester Byrne.

Bradley was driving a black Seat Leon that was involved in a collision with a white Renault van near to the junction with Rotherham Road on the A57 in Beighton, at around 11.24am on Friday, August 7.

A 19-year-old woman who was a passenger in the same car as Bradley also sustained serious injuries, as did the driver of the Renault van, a 41-year-old man. Both were taken to hospital.

Police are now trying to trace the owner of a silver or grey coloured BMW, possibly a 3 or 5 series. The car is reported to have been close to the scene at the time of the collision.

Witnesses to the collision should call 101 quoting incident number 371 of 7 August 2015.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "Bradley’s family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time."
