Carvalhal said: "If you talk about the marathon, the draw and a point here at Derby - a team more relaxed who have achieved a play-off place, the atmosphere enthusiastic about the achievement of the club - then I would say I was happy.

"And I am happy.

"But I am a little disappointed because if we win, we have achieved something important."

"We played good football and I think we gave a fantastic image of Sheffield Wednesday, not just us, but the fans also.

"We are still running. Let us see what happens today with Bolton and Cardiff but next Saturday we have another game and the next Saturday we have another game.

"Let's see what at the end we achieve."

Should Cardiff lose against relegated Bolton, Wednesday will secure a top six berth ahead of the meeting between the two clubs at Hillsborough next week.

Carvalhal said he was pleased with Bannan's goal, another stunning strike to add to the collection of fine Wednesday goals this season.

"We have more chances to score and Keiren Westwood did some good defences today.

"It was a balanced game but of course we are happy with the goal.

"We are happy with our performance. We wanted to win but we are still happy with the point and the way we are running in this competition."
