Wednesday attempted to convert their season-long loan for the Czech Republic international to a permanent deal during the January transfer window.

But they failed to reach an agreement with his parent club Watford over the fee.

Pudil – who has 18 months remaining on his deal at Vicarage Road – is desperate to remain in Sheffield with his family settled in the city and is hopeful a deal can be done.

“I think they are still talking, trying to find a solution to keep me here,” he said.

“I don’t know how close the two clubs were to agreeing a deal.

“I don’t want to move anywhere else. I have settled down with my family here.

“I have two children, one is in school and my daughter is four months old.

“We would really like to stay here.

“I would like to stay here and that’s why I’m doing everything I can at the club to make the supporters proud.

“My job is to play well. I have an agent and he’s talking to Wednesday and Watford.”

Pudil has proven immensely popular with Wednesdayites since arriving on loan in August.

The 30-year-old has made 27 appearances for Wednesday so far this season, scoring twice.
