Sheffield youngsters embrace wild side as they explore city’s woods

Youngsters embraced their wild side as they got closer to nature in Sheffield this week.

Families flocked to Ecclesall Woods on Wednesday for the latest in a series of Wild Play sessions organised by Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust during the summer holidays.

Armed with nets, pots and magnifying glasses, they went on the hunt for minibeasts in an attempt to discover more about the creatures on their doorstep.

Youngsters exploring Greno Woods and Ecclesall Woods during the sessions this summer got to unleash their inner Bear Grylls as they took part in activities ranging from bushcraft to campfire cooking.
