Leah Washington and Joe Pugh raised money for Barnsley Hospital Charity by taking part in their annual Rainbow Dash.

Leah and Joe who were both involved in the crash last year proved that they aren’t going to let the accident hold them back by taking part in the five kilometre route.

Leah, 18, had to have her left leg amputated after the crash and has learned to walk again using a prosthetic leg.

Joe, 19, has also had to learn to walk again after his knees were badly shattered in the crash.

The pair, of Barnsley, were joined by their mums, Louise Washington and Julie Pugh for the race, which took place yesterday.

Leah said of the challenge: “We decided to register for Rainbow Dash because we really wanted to take part in a colour event.”
