A romantic fantasy novel, The Prophets of Baal by Sheffield-born writer Philip Hall, is being published as a downloadable e-book. The novel will be available for purchase on from Monday, as well as in leading online bookstores such as the Apple iBookstore, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo.

Described as a country house murder mystery with a new twist, it features young private investigator Toby Le Tocq investigating a recently discovered 200-year-old and becoming embroiled in ancient power of sorcery.

Growing up in Sheffield the author took many holidays in Lincolnshire where the novel is set. After Oxford University he returned to teach at his old school, King Edward VII, and switched to writing only recently, but he has already enjoyed some success. Earlier this year he was one of only two non-Canadians to have flash fiction published in the Canadian science fiction magazine AE Micro 2013 and received an Honourable Mention for an entry in last year’s Writers of the Future Competition and made the quarterly shortlist for the International Aeon Award.
