Big-hearted South Yorkshire animal lovers are being urged to give an enthusiastic dog a home.
Lurcher Blue, aged four, has been in the care of staff at RSPCA Sheffield’s Animal Centre in Stadium Way for nearly a year.
And animal welfare workers can’t understand why nobody has given him a loving home yet.
Adam Spencer, who works at the centre, said: “He is a lively and exuberant lad who is full of fun and enjoys being out and about enjoying the fresh air and any interesting aromas he can have a good sniff at.
“This boy also has a lovely softer side where he will happily come and cuddle up to you once the fun is over and just enjoy a lazy snooze.“
He added: “When he initially came to us, was quite scared of other dogs, after lots of work here at the centre he has improved massively.
“He generally ignores passing dogs now and will happily walk alongside some small breed dogs. We think he would prefer an only pet household so that he can continue to grow in confidence and be relaxed when out and about.
“Blue is quite bouncy and silly and he really likes to get you involved in the fun too. We think children aged 13 years and older would be better housemates for him, so that they are able to enjoy in fun that Blue has to offer.”
Anyone able to provide a home for Blue can contact the centre on 0114 289 8050.
