Spate of arson attacks overnight across South Yorkshire

Arsonists sparked several fires overnight across South Yorkshire.

A hedge went up in flames in Park Spring Road, Little Houghton, at 7.30pm last night.

Firefighters from Dearne Valley Fire Station spent 30 minutes tackling the blaze.

A patch of woodland was set alight in Willow Bank, Wilthorpe, at 7.45pm.

Barnsley Station firefighters dealt with the flames.

A crew from Rotherham Central Fire Station was dispatched to tackle a grass fire in Red Scope Crescent, Kimberworth, at 8.05pm.

Arsonists set fire to some trees and bushes in Callow Mount, Meersbrook, at 8.25pm.

Sheffield Central firefighters spent 45 minutes tackling the blaze.

A detached garage was set alight in Barnsley Road, Goldthorpe, at 9.30pm.

Dearne firefighters tackled the blaze.

Arsonists set fire to a patch of grassland in Centenary Way, Canklow, at 11.15pm.

Rotherham Central firefighters extinguished the blaze.
