The Specials play Sheffield in October.

The Coventry band – famous for hits such as Gangsters, A Message to You, Rudy, Rat Race and number ones Too Much Too Young and Ghost Town – are heading out in October and November, including a date at Sheffield’s 02 Academy on Saturday, October 22.

They will be the first shows since the death of drummer John “Brad” Bradbury in December.

Frontman Terry Hall said: “We started working on these dates last October.

“Everyone was really looking forward to them and then, just after Christmas, Brad passed away.

“It was devastating, but in our heart of hearts, we know he would want us to continue with the plan he helped to put together.”

Tickets for the Sheffield show, priced from £40, are on sale now at www.sheffieldacademy.co.uk
